Stages of lead qualification: Marketing-, Sales-Accepted, and Sales-Qualified Leads.
These are lead-qualification stages. An MQL (Marketing-Qualified Lead) meets marketing's interest threshold; an SAL (Sales-Accepted Lead) is one sales agrees is worth pursuing; an SQL (Sales-Qualified Lead) has been validated against qualification criteria and entered as an opportunity. Clear definitions for each prevent the friction and finger-pointing of leaky marketing-to-sales handoffs.
